The Council of Minister convened under the leadership of Prime Minister Ersan Saner on Tuesday.
Making a statement after the 7 hour meeting, Prime Minister Saner said that despite the sufficient amount of vaccines in the country, only 53 percent of the population had been vaccinated.
Noting that up until now 543 thousand doses of vaccines had been sent from the Republic of Turkey, Saner said that he was deeply disappointed that the vaccination rate was not higher in the country and called on those who have not been vaccinated yet to do so immediately.
Touching upon President Tatar’s visit to New York, Saner said that as the government they fully support President Tatar and the thesis he will be putting forth on the Cyprus issue.
On the issue of the closed city of Maraş, the Premier stated that the necessary steps will be taken in line with the decisions announced by the European Court of Human Rights.
Referring to his meeting with the Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay, Saner said that he had stated that as the TRNC government they are ready to do whatever it takes to protect the rights and interests of the Turkish nation in the Blue homeland.
