The Mediterranean Municipalities’ Union that is carrying out a variety of contacts in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus paid a visit to acting President and Speaker of Parliament Önder Sennaroğlu and Prime Minister Ersan Saner separately.
Acting President and Parliamentary Speaker Önder Sennaroğlu received the visiting Turkish delegation that was made up of mayors from Eğirdir, Bucak, Sandıklı, Pamukkale, Çiçekpınar, Alanya and Kızılkaya at the parliament.
The Cyprus Turkish Municipalities Union, Güzelyurt Mayor Mahmut Özçınar and Beyarmudu Mayor İlker Edip accompanied the Turkish delegation during the visit.
The General Secretary of the Parliament Seral Fırat and executive assistant Mustafa Çaluda were also present at the meeting.
During the visit paid to him Prime Minister Saner said that it was very important for municipalities with the same service areas to share their experiences.
Reminding that a variety of protocols had been signed with Turkey, Saner said that as the prime minister he was very pleased to see that the Cyprus Turkish Municipalities Union and the Mediterranean Municipalities Union would be working together.
Saner also thanked the visiting delegation for the contributions that they will be making.
Stating that the sole purpose of cooperation between Turkey and the TRNC is to provide better service to the public, Saner also noted that they are ready to fulfill their duty as the government for the continuation of cooperation between the two countries.
