The Health Ministry on Monday reported 63 new positive cases of coronavirus following 25,417 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry data, 51 cases were locally transmitted. Three of the cases were from overseas and nine were contacts of persons who previously tested positive for Covid-19.

23 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, eight from the Girne District, 14 from the Gazimağusa District, one from the Güzelyurt District and five from the İskele District.

Data shows that 50 people have recovered and have been sent home.

In the meantime, 136 positive cases were reported in South Cyprus on Monday.

Also, the Health Ministry urges anyone who has come into contact with persons who have tested positive for Covid-19 or those who display symptoms of the virus such as fever, coughing and fatigue or loss of smell or taste to contact the Health Ministry Contact Tracing Team.
