Turkey’s National Security Council chaired by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan convened on Thursday.
The Eastern Mediterranean issue and the Cyprus issue were emphasized on a memorandum issued following the meeting.
“The support given to Greece and the Greek Cypriot administration on their unilateral activities and unfriendly stance will only further deepen disputes in the region” the memorandum said.
Referring to issues related to the Aegean, Eastern Mediterranean and Cyprus as well as the imbalanced immigration issue, the memorandum noted that ignoring Turkey’s goodwill, constructive solution-oriented proposals and approaches was contrary to international law and justice and the long term interests of the European Union.
