The Health Ministry on Thursday reported 97 new positive cases of coronavirus following 17,183 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry data, 78 positive cases were locally transmitted three were from abroad and 16 were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases.

25 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 24 from the Girne District, 18 from the Gazimağusa District, 10 from the Iskele District and one from the Güzelyurt District.

While one person died from the virus 66 recoveries have been recorded.

South Cyprus on the other hand reports 153 new positive cases on Thursday.
