The Health Ministry on Sunday reported 89 new positive cases of coronavirus following 23,042 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, two of the individuals arrived from abroad, 14 people were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases, while 73 positive cases were locally transmitted.

30 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 32 from the Girne District, nine from the Gazimağusa District, one from the İskele District and one from the Lefke District.

102 people recovered and were sent home.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus on the other hand reported 112 new positive cases and one death on Sunday.

Also, the Health Ministry urges anyone who has come into contact with persons who have tested positive for Covid-19 or those who display symptoms of the virus such as fever, coughing and fatigue or loss of smell or taste to contact the Health Ministry Contact Tracing Team.
