President Ersin Tatar received the newly elected National Unity Party (UBP) leader Faiz Sucuoğlu on Monday and gave him the task of forming a new government.
Speaking during the visit, President Tatar expressed the hope that a new government will be formed as soon as possible in order to overcome the economic problems being experienced in the country.
Wishing Sucuoğlu success, Tatar also praised the UBP for carrying out a democratic process.
Sucuoğlu for his part thanked the President for tasking him with this duty and said that he will be working straight away to form the government.
Making a statement to the press prior to leaving the presidency, Sucuoğlu stated that the country was in need of an early election government and drew attention to the date of 6 February.
He noted that an election government can be formed by determining the date of the election and truly abiding by it.
Noting that the country is in need of a government that will last for 3 or 4 months, Sucuoğlu stated that the effects of the pandemic are continuing therefore the interests of the people come first then the interests of the party.
