The Parliamentary Advisory Committee on Monday announced that an agreement has been reached amongst the political parties to hold early elections on January 23, 2022.

The Speaker of Parliament Önder Sennaroğlu announced after yesterday’s meeting that the parties had arrived at a consensus to instruct parliament’s Legal and Political Affairs Committee to carry out the necessary work.

He also said that a decision had emerged from the meeting to establish an Ad-Hoc committee to work on amending the Election and Referendum Law.

Sennaroğlu added that the political parties in parliament have agreed to pass the 2022 budget before the elections through an expedited process.
