Health Minister Ali Pilli on Wednesday ruled out the possibility of a new lockdown in the country as long as there is no significant shift in global pandemic conditions.

Pilli said that their goal was to improve the education and tourism sectors which are the vital points of the economy by increasing the vaccination rate to the highest level.

The health minister said, “To reach this goal we will speed up the vaccination drive with new measures we will introduce. Instead of waiting for citizens to come we will bring the vaccine to citizens, allowing them direct access.”

He also expressed the conviction that the worst was over and better days were ahead.
