Finance Minister Dursun Oğuz received a delegation from the Uzunköprü Master Veterans Association and touched upon the sporting embargoes that are being enforced against the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

He said that due to the embargoes the youth are unable to compete in international competitions and called on the international community to put an end to this injustice.

“Sports is universal. Sport is about friendship, brotherhood and peace. The embargoes must be abandoned” said Oğuz.

Veli Yıldırım, the leader of the Uzunköprü Master Veterans Association for his part pointed out that the sports embargoes imposed against the Turkish Cypriot people and the youth is unacceptable.
