The Health Ministry on Thursday reported 257 new positive cases of coronavirus following 18,880 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, three persons arrived from abroad, 47 people were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases, while 207 positive cases were locally transmitted.

81 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 50 from the Girne District, 55 from the Gazimağusa District, four from the Güzelyurt District, 13 from the İskele District and four from the Lefke District.

78 people recovered and were sent home.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus reported 388 new cases and one death of Thursday.

Also, the Health Ministry urges anyone who has come into contact with persons who have tested positive for Covid-19 or those who display symptoms of the virus such as fever, coughing and fatigue or loss of smell or taste to contact the Health Ministry Contact Tracing Team.
