The Health Ministry on Monday reported 289 new positive cases of coronavirus following 29,995 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, three persons arrived from abroad, 68 people were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases, while 218 positive cases were locally transmitted.

98 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 60 from the Girne District, 39 from the Gazimağusa District, seven from the Güzelyurt District, nine from the İskele District and five from the Lefke District.

208 people recovered and were sent home.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus reported 491 new cases on Monday.
