Date Added: 26 November 2021

Health Minister Ali Pilli announced that 50 thousand 310 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine were sent from the Republic of Turkey to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and called on the public to get vaccinated.

Noting that recently there has been an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the country, Pilli said that although there has been an increase in the interest shown by the public to the vaccinations, some circles were still refraining from getting vaccinated.

Stating that there are plenty of vaccines at vaccination centres, Pilli called on the public to continue to abide by the COVID-19 measures and wear their masks, continue practicing social distancing and hygiene rules.

Calling on those with chronic illnesses to refrain from spending time in closed and crowded places and to wear their masks to protect themselves, Pilli said that masks are of great importance in terms of preventing Covid-19 and influenza infections.
