The attack on the Great Mosque in Larnaca was also strongly condemned by the Department of Religious Affairs.

According to a statement made by the department attacking places of worship does not lead to peace, but to an increase in grudge, hatred and enmity.

The Head of Religious Affairs Department Ahmet Ünsal said he strongly condemns the attack on the Larnaca Grand Mosque that took place in South Cyprus.

Ünsal also called on the authorities in South Cyprus to be sensitive both in finding the culprits of these attacks and in protecting places of worship which are the symbols of spiritual values.
