New Covid-19 rules and measures

The Higher Committee for Infectious Diseases has announced the following measures and rules determined according to the latest epidemiological situation in the TRNC.

Covid-19 patients isolating at home will end their isolation without the need for a negative PCR test 11 days after testing positive on the condition they display no symptoms. Individuals displaying symptoms are required to contact the number provided to them. Previously all Covid-19 patients were required to undergo PCR testing on the 10th day after testing positive, only being allowed to end their isolation after testing negative.

All Covid-19 tests (PCR/rapid tests) carried out by laboratories are required to be CE-IVD certificated.

All individuals (except for TRNC citizens) arriving from Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe or who travelled to any one of these countries in the last 14 days will not be allowed to enter the TRNC due to the OMICRON variant.

“LEVEL 3” rules continue to apply for all island residents using the crossing points.
