The Health Ministry on Wednesday reported 218 new positive cases of coronavirus following 15,476 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, two people came from abroad and 44 people were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases, while 172 positive cases were locally transmitted.

53 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 43 from the Girne District, 45 from the Gazimağusa District, 25 from the Iskele District and six from the Güzelyurt District.

223 people recovered and were sent home.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus reported 2 deaths and 650 new cases on Wednesday.
