President Ersin Tatar said that he will always continue to fight for the continuation of the Turkish presence in Cyprus and pointed to the importance of the scientific studies being carried out for the promotion of the TRNC.

President Tatar met with the Mayor of the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and some representatives during an online conference titled ‘International Cyprus Symposium on the 450th Anniversary of the Conquest’.

President Tatar stated that as the TRNC they wanted to benefit from the opportunities of Antalya and added that tourists in Antalya could be hosted in the TRNC with joint programs to be held between the TRNC and Antalya.

During his address the president pointed to the importance of explaining the Cyprus cause and gaining the support of the public and added that the Turkish Cypriot people are just as sovereign as the Greek Cypriots and have never lived under Greek Cypriot sovereignty.

The President said that despite the inhumane embargoes and isolations the Turkish Cypriots have been subjected to, great successes have been achieved especially in the education and tourism sectors, with the support of Motherland Turkey.

The participants, on the other hand, underlined that they are always ready to do whatever is necessary for the TRNC and added that the national stance shown by the President is very important as it gives them courage.
