The Health Ministry on Wednesday reported 179 new positive cases of coronavirus following 15,388 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, 40 people were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases, while 139 positive cases were locally transmitted.

44 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 45 from the Girne District, 30 from the Gazimağusa District, 10 from the Güzelyurt District and 10 from the İskele District.

While two people died from the virus 250 people recovered and were sent home.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus reported one death and 883 new cases on Wednesday.
