Leader of the Democrat Party, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu paid a visit to the Martyr Families and Disabled War Veterans Association as it is the 21-25 December National Struggle and Martyrs Week.
He met with the Chairman of the Martyr Families and Disabled War Veterans Association Gürsel Benan and then toured the Martyrs Never Die Museum and signed the Special Book there.
Speaking during the visit, Ataoğlu said that thanks to the martyrs the Turkish Cypriots were able to come to where they are today.
“I commemorate all our martyrs once again. I wish our veterans a long and healthy life,” said Ataoğlu.
Noting that the martyrs have never been forgotten and will never be forgotten, Ataoğlu said “without forgetting our past and by keeping the memory of what happened in our minds alive, we can lay the foundations for our future”.
