Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü has announced that efforts are underway to build a recreation, sports and walking track within a 58 thousand square metre plot that has been allocated by the Forestry Department.

Noting that one of the biggest problems of Girne is the lack of large-scale green areas, Güngördü noted that they are working to solve this problem.

He stated that they have started field work to carry out the first large-scale recreation, sports and walking track on the 44 donum land, south of the West Ring Road, adding that the first stage of the walking track and landscaping will be completed by spring.
