The Health Ministry on Monday reported 157 new positive cases of coronavirus following 24,155 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, 16 people were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases while 141 positive cases were locally transmitted.

61 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 29 from the Girne District, 40 from the Gazimağusa District, three from the Güzelyurt District, six from the İskele District and two from the Lefke District.

221 people recovered and were sent home.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus reported two deaths and 1,925 new cases on Monday.
