The Health Ministry on Tuesday reported 209 new positive cases of coronavirus following 17,192 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, 34 people were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases while 175 positive cases were locally transmitted.

74 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 41 from the Girne District, 27 from the Gazimağusa District, 12 from the Güzelyurt District, 13 from the İskele District and eight from the Lefke District.

While one person died from the virus 167 people recovered and were sent home.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus reported 2,241 new cases on Tuesday.
