TRNC: 700 new positive cases, S. Cyprus 5,457 new cases

A record 700 Covid-19 cases were detected in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on Tuesday following 28,862 tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

The Health Ministry reported that of the 700, 676 were local cases while the remaining 24 were close contacts of persons who previously tested positive for Covid-19.

One person also died bringing the death toll from Covid-19 in the TRNC to 142.

243 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 189 from the Girne District, 206 from the Gazimağusa District, 17 from the Güzelyurt District, 14 from the İskele District and seven from the Lefke District.

A total of 208 persons were reported as recovered.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus reported 5,457 new cases and five deaths on Tuesday.
