Cost of living went up by 15.16 per cent

The Statistics Department has announced the cost-of-living for the month of December as 15.16 per cent.

As a result, the rate for inflation for 2021 was recorded as 46.09 per cent.

While the price of 669 goods increased in December, the price of 24 goods and services dropped.

The highest expenditures were recorded in transportation, hospitality services, communication, food and alcoholic beverages, home tools and services as well as entertainment.

According to the  Consumer Price Index (CPI), there was a significant increase in the price of food, health services and fuel.
