Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu on Tuesday attended a dinner hosted in his honour by MPs from Turkey’s Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Nationalist Movement Party.

Also present at the dinner were members of the Turkey-TRNC Friendship Group, the Turkish Parliament’s committee regarding the constitution and defence as well as former ministers.

The importance of relations between the two countries was emphasized during the meeting.

While the attending MPs wished Sucuoğlu success in the upcoming general elections in the TRNC, they expressed their readiness to further develop relations between the two countries.

Prime Minister Sucuoğlu for his part underlined the importance of Turkey’s support to the TRNC and the Turkish Cypriot people.

“We had a sincere meeting with our friends and we felt their support,” he said.
