The leader of the National Unity Party Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu has emphasized that they will be holding intensive consultations with motherland Turkey in the period ahead and said that their goal is to create a Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus that can support itself.
The Prime Minister issued the statement during the National Unity Party celebrating its election victory.
The UBP emerged as the leading party with 24 deputies.
Addressing party supporters Sucuoğlu said “the people trusted us and have tasked us to be on duty for another 5 years. It is a difficult task but I believe that we are the only party capable of overcoming these problems. The UBP will bring this country to the position it deserves”.
Noting that there are 5 parties within the parliament therefore it is not possible to be the ruling party alone; Sucuoğlu said “We respect the decision of the people without question. This is our duty, we will fulfill our duty.”
Explaining that the UBP’s wealth is its organizations and with its approximately 17 thousand members, Sucuoğlu said that they have once again come to power at a time when there are problems in the country and added that no matter what the circumstances they will overcome these problems.
He also said that they would not refrain from taking the necessary steps to improve the country.
