President Ersin Tatar on Wednesday received the Deputy General Director of Turkish Television Corporation (TRT) Hasan Öymez.

Speaking during the visit, President Ersin Tatar praised the corporation’s efforts in promoting the TRNC and the just cause of the Turkish Cypriot people with its broadcasts, TV series and films.

Thanking Öymez for holding the premier of TRT’s latest movie “Kesişme; İyi ki Varsın Eren” in the TRNC, Tatar highlighted the importance of Turkey’s success in the movie and film sector in the international arena.

“We are waging a struggle for existence here in Cyprus. We are working for the independence, freedom and preservation of the state. This is why the TRT’s efforts are extremely important for us. The TRT’s office here is important as well, as it broadcasts whatever is going on in the country,” he said.
