Nalbantoğlu remembered on anniversary of his death

Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu, who served on many fronts, including the Erenköy resistance during the Cyprus Turkish people’s struggle for existence, who created the country’s health infrastructure and who served as health minister, was remembered on Sunday with a ceremony by his grave on the 42nd anniversary of his death.

Along with family and loved ones, former President Mustafa Akıncı and his wife Meral Akıncı, several deputies and officials from associations and organizations attended the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, National Unity Party (UBP) Deputy Zorlu Töre said that names like Burhan Nalbantoğlu took on important tasks during the Turkish Cypriot people’s struggle for existence and in the institutionalization of the state should not be forgotten.

Former MP Hüseyin Angolemli who also delivered a few words said, “Everyone leaves something behind when they die. Burhan Nalbantoğlu left behind honesty, faithfulness and devotion.”
