The Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage in Cyprus has finalized the conservation work at the Zuhuri Mosque and Tekke, one of the most important historic sites in Larnaca.
In a message on social media, Turkish Cypriot co-chairman of the Bicommunal Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage Ali Tuncay said that they were very pleased to see the completion of the conservation works at the mosque.
Tuncay stated that work on the project which was funded by the EU was carried out through technical expertise provided by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
Tuncay expressed the hope that the monument will become a popular site to be visited, adding that the Zuhuri Mosque and Tekke had a significant impact on the religious, social and cultural lives of former Turkish Cypriot inhabitants of Larnaca.
