Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu on Monday said that creating a strong economy and raising the public’s purchasing power will be among the new government’s priorities.

In a statement posted on social media, Sucuoğlu said that he had highlighted the need to lower prices during his meetings with sector representatives.

He said that he had observed a considerable drop in prices at open-air bazaars set up on Sunday.

The prime minister said that the prices of food, vegetables and fruit had dropped in some cases as much as 50 per cent.

Sucuoğlu said that he will continue to be following developments closely.
