PM Sucuoğlu’s new cabinet approved by President Ersin Tatar

The leader of National Unity Party (UBP), Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu submitted his cabinet for the UBP-DP (Democrat Party)-YDP (Rebirth Party) coalition government to President Ersin Tatar on Monday.

Speaking to reporters afterwards, Sucuoğlu said that his list for the new Council of Ministers had been approved by the president.

The new cabinet was read out in parliament on Monday afternoon.

The new cabinet is as follows:

  • Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu (UBP)
  • Minister of Economy and Energy Kutlu Evren (UBP)
  • Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu (DP)
  • Minister of Foreign Affairs Hasan Taçoy (UBP)
  • The Minister of Finance Sunat Atun (UBP)
  • Minister of Interior Ünal Üstel (UBP)
  • Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı (YDP)
  • Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu (UBP)
  • Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Dursun Oğuz (UBP)
  • Minister of Health Ali Pilli (UBP)
  • Minister of Labour and Social Security Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu (UBP)

Speaking earlier, Sucuoğlu said the UBP-DP-YDP coalition was different from previous governments.

“The distribution of ministries and the arithmetic are different. What I really want to emphasize is that our coalition partners, the party leaders, are just as motivated as we are for finding pragmatic solutions to the country’s problems. We will free the country from this critical situation with success through coordination and working together,” he said.

Sucuoğlu also reiterated his desire for a long term, planned and programmed government which will work in harmony.

“We are sure that we will succeed with the support of motherland Turkiye and our determination to serve,” he added.
