The Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre also issued a message on Tuesday marking March 8 International Women’s Day.

In his message Töre underlined the need for women to be supported in all areas of life.

“I would like to wish all women a happy International Women’s Day. There is work to be done and steps that need to be taken. We need to support women in all walks of life and lead such initiatives” the parliamentary speaker said.

He also pointed out that Turkish women were strong and protective of their right which was a huge gain for the Turkish nation adding that this strength will help carry the nation forward.

“It should not be forgotten that there were many women in the long and glorious history of the Turkish nation. We remember all of these women with gratitude to whom we owe our lives and freedom” he said.
