President Ersin Tatar said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is a reality and no one can deny this fact.

Speaking during the Nowruz celebrations that are being held at the Girne American University in partnership with the Azerbaijan State Diaspora Presidency and the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Group, President Tatar said that after the establishment of the organization of Turkic states they are now even closer with Azerbaijan and added that this situation gives strength to the Turkic world.

Touching upon the Cyprus issue, President Tatar stated that motherland Turkiye had always supported the Turkish Cypriot people and added that the Turkish Cypriot people who have established their own state on these lands are now prepared to facilitate an agreement that foresees two separate equal sovereign states living side by side in cooperation.

“The TRNC is the representative of the Turkic World in the Eastern Mediterranean” said Tatar and added that Turkiye is the only country in the world that recognises the TRNC and this is a great injustice carried out by the world.

“There are two separate peoples in Cyprus. We will defend our state and sovereign right to the very end. The existence of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus cannot be denied” said Tatar.
