President Ersin Tatar received the Cyprus Azerbaijan Friendship Society delegation and Azerbaijan MPs on Tuesday.

Speaking during the visit, the President noted that important developments were taking place around the world.

Reminding that all kinds of pains and joys were being shared with Azerbaijan, he said it was Turkiye which reinforced relations between the TRNC and Azerbaijan.

“The TRNC reached to this point thanks to Turkiye’s great sacrifices and support towards the Turkish Cypriot people” President Tatar stressed.

He also reminded that the Greek-Greek Cypriot duo tortured the Turkish Cypriots a lot with the aim of annexing the island to Greece.

Stating that the Turkish Cypriot people reached to these days by struggling with a resistance fighter spirit, the President said “we will not be deceived by the Greek-Greek Cypriot duo.”

Tatar also stressed that the existence of Turkiye on the island was legitimate.

Expressing his belief that the ties between Azerbaijan and the TRNC will increase every passing day, the President said “We are whole sisters/brothers with you. Both your joy and your sorrow are ours as well. I hope we will take a further step and will also get closer on the diplomatic issues.”
