Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, who is in Pakistan for the 48th Foreign Ministers Council Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation met with his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

Making a statement regarding the meeting via his social media account, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said, “We met with the TRNC Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğuloğlu in Islamabad. We always support the Turkish Cypriot people”.

Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğu also met with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hüseyin İbrahim Taha and discussed bilateral relations and the latest situation on the island.

According to the written statement made by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the relations between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the TRNC were evaluated at the meeting held in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

Emphasizing the importance of implementing the decisions taken by the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Cyprus, Foreign Minister Ertuğruloğlu noted that they attached importance to the solidarity role of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the just cause of the Turkish Cypriots in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Taha also reiterated that the organization will be in solidarity with the Turkish Cypriot people.
