Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu has called on the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to implement the decisions it has taken on the Cyprus issue.
Delivering a speech at the 48th Foreign Ministers Council Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Islamabad under the theme “Partnership for Unity, Justice and Development,” Foreign Minister Ertuğruloğlu noted that the OIC had taken many praisable decisions on Cyprus but now the time has come to show active support instead of using mere words.
“The time has come to implement the decisions of the Islamic Cooperation, which envisaged the lifting of the inhumane isolations imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people” said Ertuğruloğlu.
He also called on the member states to fight together in order to solve the common problems faced by the Islamic World.
Ertuğruloğlu described the island of Cyprus as “an island with two separate sovereign states, neither of which has the right to represent the island as a whole” and said that the OIC’s approach on the Cyprus issue should take this reality into account.
Pointing out that thanks to the support provided by Ankara to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, they still have hope that there is a just world, Ertuğruloğlu thanked motherland Turkiye for its support in every field.
Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu also held bilateral meetings with his counterparts on the sidelines of the OIC’s 48th Foreign Ministers Council Meeting.
