“The main thing is the state, the Republic and the continuation of our relations with motherland Turkiye”.

This statement was made by President Tatar while he received a delegation made up of union leaders and members of the board of directors affiliated with the Turkiye Kamu-Sen Confederation on Wednesday.

Touching upon the struggle that has been waged on the island for years, Tatar stated that there is harmony between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Turkiye.

He also stated that if there is to be an agreement on the island, it will be with the cooperation of two separate sovereign equal states living side by side; otherwise it will lead to the extinction of the Turkish Cypriot people.

He also expressed the hope that the cooperation between the Republic of Turkiye and the TRNC will continue in the name of defending the two countries national interest.

Touching upon work that is being carried out in order for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to get to a stronger position, Tatar reminded that the Greek-Greek Cypriot duo is still carrying out injustices against the Turkish Cypriot people and embargoes are still being enforced.

Tatar also emphasized that the Republic of Turkiye supports the Turkish Cypriots under all circumstances.

“The main thing is to maintain our state, the republic and our valued relations with Motherland Turkiye. We must preserve our values and our relations with Turkiye. We have a state. The contribution in our state by the Republic of Turkiye is very important. If there is to be reconciliation on this island, it will be with the cooperation of two separate sovereign equal states living side by side. Otherwise, it will lead to our extinction. I would like to thank our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who supports us, and the Turkish government, institutions, organizations and the people,” said Tatar.
