President Ersin Tatar will be attending this afternoon the “Civil Defence, Disaster Management and Intervention Exercise-2022” organized by the TRNC Civil Defence Organization.

According to a statement released by the President’s Office, the exercise which will be conducted in the Metehan area in the capital Lefkoşa on Thursday will start at 3pm.

In addition to personnel from the Civil Defence Organization, the People’s Organization as well as several ministries, institutions, organizations, students from the search and rescue clubs of the TRNC universities which are members of the International Universities Search and Rescue Council (IUSARC) will participate in the exercise.

The aim of the drill will be to test the readiness level of all units within the Disaster Emergency Management System in the country, further develop cooperation and coordination and raise awareness for disasters and emergencies as well as to fill the deficiencies through increasing cooperation between the institutions and organizations.
