Pr. Tatar issues message to mark 1st June Int. Children’s Day

The 1st of June was International Children’s Day.

On the day that draws attention to children’s rights and the importance of providing them with a better life and future President Ersin Tatar said “It is our primary responsibility to prepare a happier and more prosperous future for the Turkish Cypriot children, who are the common hope of humanity and our most valuable asset.”

In a message he issued to mark the 1st of June International Children’s Day President Ersin Tatar stated that the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, approved by the Republic’s Assembly in 1996, guarantees the rights of children in the country on a legal basis.

“We should not spare any sacrifice in order to meet all the needs of our children, to eliminate the negativities they face, to improve their living conditions, to respond to their expectations and to find solutions to their problems” said Tatar in his message.

He also emphasized that he will work with all his strength to ensure that the children, who are the guarantee of the Turkish Cypriot peoples’ future, can live freely in their own sovereign state in safety, peace and prosperity.
