Slovak Ambassador visits UBP

The newly appointed Slovak Ambassador Martin Bezak paid a visit to the National Unity Party (UBP).

UBP leader Faiz Sucuoğlu told Mr. Bezak that the negotiations on a federation are now exhausted and explained the new vision of the UBP for a solution in Cyprus on the basis of sovereign equality.

The newly appointed Slovak Ambassador Martin Bezak paid a visit to the National Unity Party and stated that the Slovak Embassy has undertaken an important mission since it has been an embassy in the Ledra Palace Hotel in the buffer zone for about 25 years, bringing together all the political parties on the island, and invited the National Unity Party to take part in these meetings.

The UBP leader Faiz Sucuoğlu for his part informed the newly appointed Slovak Ambassador regarding the party’s new vision for a solution on the island based on sovereign equality.

Sucuoğlu stated that the National Unity Party has always been in favour of meetings and discussions, but that the negotiations on a federation have been exhausted.

He said that the National Unity Party can no longer take part in this negotiation process, and added that they as the party will not hesitate to take steps that will make the lives of the two peoples easier on the island.
