President says Turkish Cypriot side will never accept a federal settlement

President Ersin Tatar on Monday said that the Turkish Cypriot side will never accept a federal settlement in Cyprus and will continue to defend a two-state solution in Cyprus.

Tatar was speaking during a meeting with officials from the Sabah daily newspaper in Türkiye.

Receiving the General Director of Sabah newspaper’s Written Media Department Ceyda Uzman and her assistants’ İsmail Arıca and Sedat Acet, President Ersin Tatar said it was important to inform future generations on the Cyprus Problem.

He said that he has and always will support such efforts and initiatives.

Pointing out that the Turkish Cypriot side was done with negotiating a federal settlement and was only supporting a two-state solution on the island, Tatar wished the Sabah group success in its work.

Also present at the meeting was the President’s Press, Research and Archives Advisor Aydın Akkurt and the President’s Political Affairs Advisor Anıl Kaya.
