Minister Öztürkler met with Turkish Interior Minister Soylu

The Minister of Interior Ziya Öztürkler is holding a series of contacts in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

He came together with his Turkish counterpart Süleyman Soylu as part of his contacts in Türkiye.

Interior Minister Ziya Öztürkler is holding official talks in the Turkish capital Ankara.

Minister Öztürkler was welcomed at Esenboğa Airport by the Turkish Deputy Minister of Interior Muhterem İnce, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’s Ambassador to Ankara Kemal Köprülü and other officials.

During his visit to Ankara, Interior Minister Öztürkler met with Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu.

The Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu welcomed Öztürkler with an official ceremony at the Turkish Ministry of Interior.

Speaking during his visit Öztürkler stated that he was proud as always to be in Türkiye and added that Türkiye’s support is very important to the Turkish Cypriot people.

Noting that he started to serve as the Minister of Interior a month ago, Öztürkler said, “The most important tradition in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is that the first visits are always made to the Republic of Türkiye and meetings with the counterpart minister are important. This is my first visit abroad after I became a minister. I am happy to be here with you. I am both honoured and proud”.

Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu for his part expressed his satisfaction with the visit and said, “Both Türkiye and the ministry are yours. You have honoured our ministry”.

Wishing Öztürkler success during his term as minister Soylu said “The existence of the TRNC and you is surety for our country and an honour for both our nation and our geography”.

Soylu emphasized that relations with the TRNC are based on the law of brotherhood.

Praising the relationship between the two countries Soylu said diplomatic relations and diplomatic contacts can be established with many countries, but Türkiye and the TRNC are a family.

Soylu and Öztürkler chaired the meeting between the delegations at the Security and Emergency Situations Coordination Centre after their tete-a-tete meeting.

Öztürkler will continue his contacts in Ankara today.
