The Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu met with the Turkish National Education Minister Mahmut Özer in Ankara.

Speaking at a meeting held between the delegations of the two countries, Çavuşoğlu stressed that Türkiye and the Turkish Cypriot People are one.

Stating that they aim to keep communication at the highest level in order to benefit from Türkiye’s academic power and experience, he emphasized one nation, two states.

“The people living in the TRNC geography are our people; there is no difference between those living here or there. The discourse of one nation, two states is not a coincidence. It’s a proof, it’s real. I am the leader of a team which tries to keep relations and communication at the highest level in order to benefit from the academic performance and experiences of the Republic of Türkiye. In this sense, we are very grateful that the Republic of Türkiye is making a great effort to bring the TRNC whatever opportunity Türkiye has” Çavuşoğlu said.

Turkish Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer for his part stressed that they will continue to support projects that will increase the stability and welfare of the TRNC.

“Important collaborations have been realized during the past two governments you have served as the Minister of Education. I fully believe that the will of coordination and joint work among our ministries will increase in this new period as well. The TRNC and our Turkish Cypriot brothers and sisters have a special place in our hearts. In this respect, we are ready, like before, to support policies that will increase the stability and welfare of the TRNC. Despite the restrictions on international platforms, the point reached today is truly admirable” Özer said.

He also stressed that as the motherland, they will continue to take the necessary steps to strengthen the TRNC’s educational infrastructure and to increase the cooperation between the two countries.
