A Hellim Working Group between the two sides of Cyprus has been established.

The group will work for the production and also for the exportation of Hellim as a ‘Protected Designation of Origin’ to European Union countries.

Prime Ministry Undersecretary Hüseyin Amcaoğlu announced on Thursday that the ‘Hellim Working Group’ will begin work in the month ahead.

The production of Hellim in line with EU standards is one of the important topics on both sides of Cyprus.

Prime Ministry Undersecretary Hüseyin Amcaoğlu, who is the Coordinating Board Chairman of Hellim on behalf of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, is continuing to chair the meetings.

Amcaoğlu who spoke on BRT on Thursday gave details of work carried out for the production of Hellim as a ‘Protected Designation of Origin’.

Following initiatives with the European Commission, Prime Ministry Undersecretary Amcaoğlu said that the ‘Hellim Working Group’ has been established and that this group will begin its activities next month.

Amcaoğlu also added that if any changes are to be made to the constitution these will be taken up by the working group.
