The 1st of August Communal Resistance Day was celebrated with a variety of events in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
The 1st of August marks the 46th anniversary of the establishment of the Cyprus Turkish Security Forces Command, the 64th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Resistance Organization and the 451st anniversary of the conquest of Cyprus by the Ottomans.
The 1st of August Communal Resistance Day was celebrated in all districts within the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Celebrations began on Monday with a speech by the Turkish Security Forces Command delivered on BRT.
Separate ceremonies were also realised at the Atatürk Monument, Martyrs Monument and the TMT Monument in the capital Lefkoşa.
