Tatar continues contacts in Türkiye

President Ersin Tatar is continuing his contacts in Türkiye as guest of his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

As part of his contacts in Türkiye, President Ersin Tatar first attended the 13th Ambassadors Conference and met with representatives of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce in the Turkish capital Ankara.

During his contacts in Ankara, President Ersin Tatar also attended a live programme on TGRT television during which he said the launch of Türkiye’s 4th drilling ship, the Abdulhamid Han, revealed just how strong it had become in the Eastern Mediterranean.

“This is a turning point, this is a breakthrough, this is a major development,” he added

He then moved on to Konya where he attended the opening ceremony of the Islamic Solidarity Games.

During the ceremony, he came together with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Azerbaijani counterpart İlham Aliyev.

During their 40-minute-long meeting, Tatar informed the Azerbaijani president about the Cyprus issue, pointing out that the TRNC was carrying out a policy in harmony with Türkiye.

Relations between Azerbaijan and the TRNC were also discussed during the meeting.

Tatar also came together with other attending heads of state at a dinner hosted by Turkish President Erdoğan for the opening.

Within the scope of today’s contacts, Tatar will move on to Karaman where he will be delivering a speech at a conference organised by the Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University titled “The Turkish Cypriots’ struggle for existence on the island”.

President Ersin Tatar is expected to return to the republic this evening after completing his contacts.
