The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reacted to the latest statement made by the Greek Cypriot Foreign Ministry concerning the meeting held between President Ersin Tatar and Azerbaijani President İlham Aliyev on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the Islamic Solidarity Games held earlier this week.

The Greek Cypriot foreign ministry had expressed “disappointment and displeasure” over the recent meeting between Tatar and Aliyev.

In a written statement on Thursday, the TRNC foreign ministry said that the reaction shown demonstrated how troubled the Greek Cypriot administration was with the acceptance of the reality that there are two states in Cyprus.

It added that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, despite the Greek Cypriot administration which resorts to all means to restrict the lives of Turkish Cypriots, will continue with determination to gain its rightful place within the international community
