The Turkish Minister for Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy is paying a visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Minister Ersoy was greeted at Ercan Airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu.
Upon his arrival the Turkish Minister inaugurated the newly restored Museum of Barbarism.
Turkish Minister Ersoy will attend a lunch given in his honour by the deputy Minister and Minister for Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu.
In the afternoon, the Turkish Minister will be received by President Ersin Tatar, Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel respectively.
Meanwhile at 6pm the Turkish Minister will attend the gala event for the documentary titled “Gol Atan Cepheye” that details the stories of resistance and struggles waged by Turkish Cypriots through football clubs between the years 1955-1974.
The documentary was made possible through the contribution of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency and the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The gala event is taking place at the Near East University’s Atatürk Culture and Congress Centre.
