The 14th Ozanköy Pekmez Festival will be held on Friday August 26.
The program for the three day festival was announced at the press conference on Thursday.
The Girne Municipality together with the Ozanköy Muhtarlık organise the festival every year in order to contribute to the touristic promotion of Ozanköy, to ensure the continuation of carob production and to encourage molasses consumption.
Speaking during the press conference, Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü said that they will be physically holding the festival this year, which has been held digitally for the past 2 years due to Covid-19.
Güngördü reminded that the village, formerly known as “Kazafana”, was named “Ozanköy” after the poet Osman Türkay, and that he will be commemorated within the framework of the festival.
