The Minister of Labour and Social Security Hasan Taçoy met with the Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services Derya Yanık on Thursday as part of his ongoing contacts in the Turkish capital Ankara.

Speaking during the meeting, the Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services Derya Yanık said that their respective ministries had deep rooted and well-established relations.

“We are always ready to enhance cooperation between our ministries which deal with similar overlapping issues. We will continue to support our Turkish Cypriot brothers and sisters,” she said.

For his part, the Minister of Labour and Social Security Hasan Taçoy said that he had been holding very productive contacts during his visit to Ankara.

He said that they were eager to benefit from the Turkish ministry’s experiences and knowledge.

Family education programmes, research on divorces, homes and care centres for persons with disabilities, social assistance systems, employment schemes for women and social service centres were among the issues discussed during the meeting.
